There are new habits we’d all like to instill in ourselves. For some of us it’s working out, making more meals at home or even getting more organized.
For me, working out regularly has been a challenge. As a business owner, I feel like every hour of every day is taken up by emails, phone calls, workshop preparation, content-making, social media posts, blog ideas, business ideas, organization tips, etc. I always seem to need 2 more hours than I have. I’m tired at the end of each day and can’t muster up the motivation to work out- even go for a walk! Shameful. My goal is to workout 3 days each week and I’m proud to say I’ve been doing that!! Here’s something I learned (that may not be an original idea, but I wanted to share it with you). If you’re in the market for a new habit- here’s what I recommend:
Do your {insert new habit here} first thing in the morning. This is when you have the most energy. Also, you’re more likely to do your new habit before your day has gotten busy with picking up dry cleaning, picking up the kids from school, running errands, etc. If you find it extra difficult to get started, enlist the help of a friend. Either have them do your new habit with you or ask that they call and check up on you to make sure you’re being held accountable.
