If you send emails and want to make sure you’re not making any mistakes, read on…
P.S. I’ve made a few of these mistakes myself- oopsy:
- Be careful when you’re being sarcastic. Your tone doesn’t transfer in an email. Some people may take things you say personally.
- Watch out for incorrect phrases. Look it up if you’re unsure. For example, “I could care less.” is incorrect. The correct phrase to use when you’re indifferent is, “I couldn’t care less.”
- Your business emails should always be professional. Friendly is okay, but don’t share too much information or photos that you wouldn’t send to your boss.
- Don’t use two sentences if one sentence will do. Be clear and if the recipient asks for a further explanation, then you’ll get your chance.
- Re-read your email one last time before sending. Always check your spelling and grammar
